Urban Meyer got good news Monday night with an Ohio State verbal commitment from Jordan Fuller.

Fuller is a four-star defensive back prospect from Old Tappan, N.J. He chose the Buckeyes over Michigan and Notre Dame.

Scout.com rates him the No. 10 cornerback in the country, and he is the sixth-best player currently in Oho State's class at No. 127 overall.

Fuller is the first player to commit to Ohio State from New Jersey this year, but it is a state Meyer has recruited well since returning to Columbus in November 2011.

He previously signed cornerback Eli Apple, defensive lineman Darius Slade, receiver Noah Brown and offensive lineman Kevin Feder.

Apple was one of nine Ohio State players to leave early for the NFL following the 2015 season, a group that includes fellow starting defensive backs Vonn Bell and Tyvis Powell.

They left behind a group of defensive backs thought to be talented but lacking experience for the most part.

Meyer's 2016 class also includes cornerback prospects Kareem Felder of Baltimore, Md., and four-star Wayne Davis of Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor.
