NYCFC scores in extra time to earn a point with Chicago

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Khiry Shelton scores in extra time to give New York City FC a 2-2 tie with Chicago on Friday night at Yankee Stadium.
New York City is in the midst of an eight-game winless streak. Chicago, meanwhile, will aim to stop a brief two-game losing streak following a 2-1 defeat to Real Salt Lake at Toyota Park last Saturday.
The Fire wasted little time as Shaun Maloney's cross and New York City goal keeper Josh Saunders committed too early and Razvan Cocis puts a header in the back of the net to give Chicago a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute.

In the 26th minute David Accam drew a foul in the penalty area. NYCFC's RJ Allen received a red card for the foul and Jeff Larentowicz finished from the line to extend the lead to 2-0.
NYCFC would respond in the first minute of extra time in the first half, when Mehdi Ballouchy scored his fourth goal of the season as the first half expired.
Playing a man down NYCFC gave a better showing in the second half. The fourth referee held up the board showing six minutes of extra time, David Villa connected on a pass to Shelton who made no mistake and tied the game with his second goal of the year to earn NYCFC a 2-2 tie.
