Nuggets rout Lakers

Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Kenneth Faried had 29 points and 11 rebounds as the Denver Nuggets routed the Los Angeles Lakers 119-101 on Wednesday night.
Danilo Gallinari posted 27 points and seven boards, while Ty Lawson added 16 points and eight assists for the Nuggets, who snapped a four-game losing streak.
Jordan Clarkson tallied 21 points and nine assists and Ed Davis supplied 15 points and 12 rebounds for Los Angeles, which has dropped five consecutive contests.

Denver led 35-33 following a quarter of play and 58-54 at the break, but pulled away in the third after outscoring the Lakers 35-17 in the period.
"I thought we got a little selfish doing things on our own," Lakers coach Byron Scott said of the third.
The game was tied 63-63 early in the frame before the Nuggets used an extended 23-4 surge to seize complete control of the contest. Randy Foye nailed a pair of 3-pointers and Kenneth Faried also netted six points during the burst, which was capped on a Wilson Chandler pull-up jumper for an 86-67 cushion late in the quarter.

"We came out in the third and played Nugget basketball," said Denver interim coach Melvin Hunt.
Denver was up 93-71 heading into the fourth, where it cruised to the easy triumph.
