Old Dominion and Norfolk State announced Tuesday the modification of the football series between the two schools with a new two-year home-and-home arrangement.
On Oct. 26, 2013 the Monarchs will travel to William "Dick" Price Stadium on Norfolk State's campus and on Sept. 12, 2015 they will host the Spartans at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.
"While we regret that due to ODU's pending transition to Conference USA and FBS football, we are unable to fulfill the original six-year football contract between ODU and NSU," Old Dominion athletic director Dr. Wood Selig said. "This new two-year home-and-home arrangement supports the philosophical scheduling commitment initially extended by both institutions to each other."

Norfolk State, from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, won the conference title in 2011 and played in the first round of the FCS playoffs versus Old Dominion, from the CAA Football. The Monarchs advanced to the second round with a 35-18 victory at home.
"I am excited for our players and fans to continue our rivalry with Norfolk State," Old Dominion coach Bobby Wilder said. "Our football program has tremendous respect for NSU and their coach Pete Adrian. I am hopeful everyone involved will have the same approach to this two-game series as they did to our playoff game."
