It was a tight back-and-forth first 14 1/2 minutes that featured 10 lead changes and three ties. Maryland took the lead and held it from that point forward after Thomas nailed a pair from the line. The Terrapins closed out the half on a 20-9 surge and took a 50-38 advantage into the locker room.
Boston College scored the first basket of the second half to come within 10 points, but that was the closest it came the rest of the way.
