No. 17 Tar Heels edge No. 10 Wolfpack

Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Diamond DeShields poured in 38 points to help No. 17 North Carolina to a 89-82 victory over No. 10 North Carolina State on Sunday.
Allisha Gray finished with 18 points and six rebounds North Carolina (20-6, 8-4 ACC), which has won three straight. The Tar Heels shot 55.4 percent from the field (31-for-56).
Kody Burke scored 18 and Markeisha Gatling added 15 points and nine rebounds for NC State (22-4, 9-3), which had a six game win streak snapped. Myisha Goodwin-Coleman and Len'Nique Brown scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Burke converted a three-point play to pull the Wolfpack within two with just over a minute left on the clock, however, the Tar Heels fired right back and closed out the game on a 9-4 run as they sailed to the finish.
DeShields scored 11 of the final 13 points in the final 2:42 of the game.
The Tar Heels trailed by as many as 11 points midway through the first half, but Brown's layup gave them a 40-39 halftime advantage.
