Nishikori reaches 4th round in Miami

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - World No. 5 Japanese star Kei Nishikori was an easy third-round winner Monday at the $5.3 million Miami Open.

The fourth-seeded 2014 U.S. Open runner-up tallied five service breaks as he rolled past 32nd-seeded Serb Viktor Troicki 6-2, 6-2 in 63 minutes at Crandon Park.

"I was almost perfect on the court this morning," said Nishikori. "It's really exciting that I'm playing good here. Maybe he was hurting a little bit, but still I was giving him a lot of pressure with my return. He has a great serve. So I think it was a great game today."

This year's Memphis champion and Acapulco runner-up Nishikori was a semifinalist at this Masters 1000 event last year.

His round-of-16 opponent will be capable Belgian David Goffin, who handled 6-foot-8 Pole Jerzy Janowicz 6-4, 6-3.

Meanwhile, fifth-seeded big-serving Canadian Milos Raonic swatted 20 aces before sneaking past 31st-seeded Frenchman Jeremy Chardy 6-1, 5-7, 7-6 (7-3) in 2 hours, 10 minutes.

Another Day 6 result saw Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov get past Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci 7-5, 6-4.

This weekend's champion will earn $900,400.
