After a remarkable season in which his club ended an almost 30-year World Series drought, Kansas City Royals GM Dayton Moore picked up some big accolades on Tuesday.

Moore was named the Esurance MLB Award for Best Executive, having been selected from a group including Jeff Luhnow of the Houston Astros and now-departed Alex Anthopoulos of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Needless to say, Moore was thrilled with the news...as he conveyed to MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan:

With the Royals eager to get back to the 'elite' status that has led them to consecutive World Series appearances (and one championship), Moore knows he has some issues to address regarding his 2016 roster...and will likely continue to do so soon.
