The NFL starts its second season with two playoff games today.

In the first contest, Seattle is playing host to defending NFL champion New Orleans in an NFC Wild Card game this afternoon.

Despite the fact the Saints have the better record, 11-and-5 compared to 7-and-9, the Seahawks have home field advantage because they won the NFC West. The winner plays either at Chicago or at Atlanta in next week's divisional round.

The two clubs met during the 11th week of the regular season, with the Saints beating the Seahawks 34-19. The 15-point margin was Seattle's closest loss of season.

Tonight's second game features AFC Wild Card opponents New York and Indianapolis. The game is being played on the Colts' home turf. The Jets finished the regular season with 11 wins in 16 games but finished second to the Patriots in the AFC East. The Colts won the AFC South with a record of 10-and-6.

If the Colts win they'll face the Steelers next week, while if the Jets advance, they would take on the Patriots.

The clubs met in the AFC title game last year with the Colts advancing to the Super Bowl after a 30-17 victory.
