BUFFALO, N.Y. – Newly hired University at Buffalo coach Lance Leipold has begun filling his staff with a number of familiar faces.
Brian Borland will serve as defensive coordinator, and Andy Kotelnicki takes over the offense, Leipold announced Wednesday. The two coordinators currently hold the same jobs under Leipold at Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Leipold was hired by Buffalo on Monday. He is finishing out his eighth and final season with the Warhawks, who are preparing for a quarterfinal playoff game against Wartburg (Iowa) this weekend.
Leipold hired two other Wisconsin-Whitewater coaches: Daryl Agpalsa (offensive line) and Alan Hensell (offensive assistant).
Running backs coach Matt Simon and defensive line coach Chris Cosh were retained and will stay on at their current jobs.
