New York, NY – New England Revolution midfielder Shalrie Joseph was suspended one match and fined an undisclosed amount Tuesday for a reckless challenge in a match against FC Dallas on Thursday.
Joseph committed the challenge against Ricardo Villar in the second half, and Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee determined he endangered the safety of his opponent. FC Dallas won, 1-0.
New England will host D.C. United on Saturday without Joseph, who will serve the suspension in the Eastern Conference clash.
