New York, NY – Washington Nationals righty Stephen Strasburg has been named the National League Pitcher of the Month for April.
Strasburg went 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA and a league-best 34 strikeouts and just six walks in five April starts to earn his first career monthly honor.
Other pitchers receiving votes were the Nationals' Jordan Zimmermann; Lance Lynn and Kyle Lohse of the St. Louis Cardinals; Arizona's Joe Saunders; San Francisco's Madison Bumgarner; Ted Lilly of the Dodgers and Johnny Cueto of the Cincinnati Reds.
