Mudiay chooses SMU over Kentucky

Star high school point guard Emmanuel Mudiay (Prime Prep/Texas) announced his commitment to the Mustangs on Saturday.
Mudiay chose SMU over Kentucky, Kansas, Baylor and Oklahoma State.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"I want to do something different," said Mudiay, who made his decision at the Under Armour Elite 24. "The program is changing under Coach Brown and I really believe in him. When he talks with me it's not only about basketball, it's about life after the game: What are my interests outside the game and how I will be able to take care of myself and my family. My dream is to play in the NBA and I feel he can help prepare."
Brown, who is the only coach to win championships in college and the NBA, guided Southern Methodist to a 15-17 record in his first season last year.
