UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Renee Montgomery had 21 points and seven assists Sunday, and the Connecticut Sun snapped a two-game losing streak with a 96-87 victory over the Atlanta Dream.
Tina Charles and Asjha Jones had 18 points and nine rebounds apiece for the Sun (17-10), while Tan White scored 11 of her 13 points in the fourth quarter.
Kara Lawson added 11 for the Sun.
Angel McCoughtry led Atlanta (13-13) with 22 points. Erika DeSouza added 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Lindsey Harding had 14 points for the Dream and Arminite Price scored 12.
White scored eight straight points for the Sun early in the fourth period. Her 3-pointer with 5:54 left gave the Sun a 76-69 lead.
Atlanta got within 76-72 with 5:28 left, but Connecticut responded with a 6-0 run to push the lead to 10.
Connecticut used a 26-4 run in the first half to lead by as many as nine. The run wiped out Atlanta's 26-12 lead that came after the Dream scored 14 straight points late in the first period.
