Barcelos, Portugal (SportsNetwork.com) - Fredy Montero scored on either side of the intermission on Sunday to lift Sporting Lisbon to a 2-0 win over Gil Vicente at the Estadio Cidade de Barcelos.

Montero, on loan from MLS side Seattle Sounders FC, has been Sporting's driving force in attack this season with a league-best 13 tallies. It didn't take long for the Colombia native to find the back of the net on Sunday as he scored just 19 minutes in.

Sporting held the one-goal lead into the break and went a man up in the 61st minute after Gil Vicente's Pecks was shown a straight red card.

Montero then put the match away for the visitors in the 74th minute after he completed his double.

The result keeps Sporting Lisbon atop the table with 29 points from 12 matches, two clear of second-place FC Porto, while Gil Vicente remains in fifth place on 18 points.

Elsewhere in Portugal, Andre Ukra scored the only goal on Sunday as Rio Ave claimed a 1-0 win against 10-man Olhanense, while Zainadine's tally two minutes from time rescued a point for Nacional in a feisty 2-2 draw with Maritimo.

On Saturday, Jackson Martinez netted a double to hand FC Porto a comfortable 2-0 win over Braga, while Estoril rolled to a 3-0 result over Pacos Ferreira behind goals from Javier Balboa, Joao Pedro and Bruno Correia.

In Saturday's final fixture, Guimaraes and Belenenses battled to a scoreless draw.

Friday's action saw Benfica and Arouca play to a 2-2 stalemate, while Monday's match saw Ricardo Horta score the only goal as Vitoria Setubal claimed a 1-0 result over Academica.
