MLB prospects reportedly questioned over alleged sexual assault of teammate

Eight Texas Rangers prosects were questioned by police in the Dominican Republic after they apparently videotaped themselves sexually assaulting an underage teammate as part of a hazing ritual, Yahoo Sports reported.

The report said that local prosecutors plan to charge at least four players who allegedly held down a younger teammate and masturbated him underneath a hand towel.

A 10-second video of the incident, which took place late last month, was uploaded to Snapchat.

Yahoo reported that the younger brother of Rangers second baseman Roughned Odor and catching prospect Yohel Pozo are among the players expected to be charged.

Another staff member, who was not involved in the incident, reported it to the Rangers. Major League Baseball opened an investigation late last week and the players were placed on administrative leave under its minor league domestic violence policy.

The players involved are members of the Rangers' Dominican Summer League team, which consists of prospects who are just getting their start in professional baseball.
