Latinos will be leading the charge in this year's MLB playoffs.
- It has been a history making year for the Detroit Tigers' third baseman Miguel Cabrera. The first Triple Crown winner in baseball since 1967, Cabrera is no stranger to success in October, looking to guide the Detroit Tigers to their first championship since 1984. As a 20-year-old, the Venezuelan played an integral role when the Florida Marlins won the NL Wild Card and the World Series. - The St. Louis Cardinals' Puerto Rican outfielder Carlos Beltrán owns the highest slugging percentage (.819) and on base plus slugging percentage (1.2979) in the history of the postseason. Since being acquired from the San Francisco Giants, the 35-year-old has been key to the Cardinals offense. Over a span of 10 games in the NLDS, Beltran is hitting .385 with six home runs and 13 RBIs. The 20-year-old spent most of the season in a Double-A minor league and was promoted to the big club on Aug. 9.
