Milan humbled by Fiorentina at the San Siro

AC Milan suffered its sixth defeat of the Serie A season on Sunday, falling at the San Siro in a 3-1 loss to Fiorentina.
Alberto Aquilani put visiting Fiorentina in front with the opening goal in the ninth minute.
Milan had a golden opportunity to draw level in the 33rd minute when it was awarded a penalty kick, but Alexandre Pato failed to convert the ensuing attempt.

Fiorentina capitalized on the miss as Borja Valero scored four minutes later to put the home side in a precarious position.
It looked as if there would be a way back after Giampaolo Pazzini cut Milan's deficit in half at the 58-minute mark, but Mounir El Hamdaoui wrapped up all three points for the visitors with his goal four minutes from time.
Milan's three-game unbeaten run in league play comes to an end as the club remains on 14 points.

Fiorentina has won four straight in Italy's top flight to climb to fourth place with 24 points.
Atalanta 3, Inter Milan 2
Bergamo, Italy - One week after ending Juventus' 49-game Serie A unbeaten run, Inter Milan failed to build on the momentum, as it lost 3-2 to Atalanta at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.

Giacomo Bonaventura scored early and German Denis added two goals for Atalanta as it held off Inter despite a late red card to Facundo Parra.
Fredy Guarin and Rodrigo Palacio scored for Inter, which had its six-fixture league win streak ended. Inter slipped four points behind Juve, which returned to form with a 6-1 win over Pescara on Saturday.
Atalanta won its third straight match and for the fourth time during a five- game unbeaten streak and is sixth on 18 points.

Lazio 3, Roma 2
Rome, Italy - Lazio came out on top of the latest Rome derby, edging Roma 3-2 in a cagey affair at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
Erik Lamela gave Roma the lead in the eighth minute, but Antonio Candreva and Miroslav Klose handed Lazio the advantage before the halftime break. Daniele De Rossi was sent off in first-half stoppage time to make matters worse for Roma.

Stefano Mauri extended Lazio's lead but was sent off five minutes from time, and Miralem Pjanic was able to pull one back for Roma shortly after but it did not spark a comeback.
The result snaps a three-match winless run for Lazio, which climbs to fifth place with 22 points through 22 games.
Roma has lost three of four in Serie A action, falling five points behind its bitter Rome rival.

Napoli 4, Genoa 2
Genoa, Italy - Napoli scored twice at the death to earn a 4-2 victory over Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday.
Ciro Immobile handed the home side the lead in the 23rd minute before Napoli's Giandomenico Mesto and Genoa's Andrea Bertolacci exchanged goals in quick succession.

Edinson Cavani leveled the score in the 78th minute, but it was Marek Hamsik's goal in the 90th minute that proved to be the game-winner. Lorenzo Insigne added one more for Napoli in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
Napoli maintains its third-place position by improving to 26 points, while Genoa's fifth straight league loss leaves the club third from bottom with just nine points.
Chievo 2, Udinese 2

Verona, Italy - Chievo and Udinese earned a point apiece in thrilling fashion on Sunday as the two sides played to a 2-2 draw at the Stadio M.A. Bentegodi.
Chievo's Marco Andreolli and Udinese's Gabriele Angella traded goals four minutes apart before the halftime interval, but the match looked to be heading in Chievo's favor when Danilo was sent off three minutes from time.
Alberto Paloschi converted a penalty kick shortly after, but Udinese was able to respond despite a one-man disadvantage as Angella scored in stoppage time with his second goal of the match.

Udinese has drawn three straight to move to 15 points, four points better than Chievo.
Palermo 2, Sampdoria 0
Palermo, Italy - Paulo Dybala bagged a second-brace at the Stadio Renzo Barbera on Sunday to power Palermo to a 2-0 defeat of Sampdoria.

The win lifts Palermo out of the relegation zone and up to 11 points on the season.
Sampdoria has lost six Serie A contests in a row but has managed to avoid a position in the drop zone, sitting one point clear with 10 points through 12 matches this term.
Torino 1, Bologna 0

Turin, Italy - Torino went unbeaten in three Serie A matches after claiming a 1-0 defeat of Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino on Sunday.
Danilo D'Ambrosio produced the game's lone goal, scoring in the 65th minute to lift the Turin club to 14 points on the season.
Bologna remains second from bottom with just eight points.
