Milan edges Genoa to end three-game skid

Stephan El Shaarawy scored with 13 minutes to go as AC Milan snapped a three-match winless streak with a 1-0 win over Genoa on Saturday at the San Siro in Serie A.
El Shaarawy turned a cross from Ignazio Abate into the net in the 77th minute for his sixth goal of the season, which is tied for the lead league, to allow Milan to secure just its third win of the season.
Milan had lost three straight in all competitions, and had just one win in its last five matches in league play. Milan surged to ninth in the standings with the majority of the league yet to play Sunday.

Genoa lost for the fourth time during a seven-game winless streak and sits one point behind Milan in 10th place.
Siena 0, Palermo 0
Siena, Italy - Palermo managed a 0-0 draw at Siena at Stadio Artemio Franchi on Saturday to extend its unbeaten streak to four matches in Serie A.

Palermo climbed out of the bottom three to 16th place on goal differential, while Siena remained buried on the foot of the table on just three points, as it started the season with a six-point penalty for match-fixing.
