Mid-American and Sun Belt conferences extend with GoDaddy.com Bowl

The Mid-American Conference and Sun Belt Conference announced on Monday that both leagues have extended their contracts with the annual GoDaddy.com bowl game.

Originally known as the Mobile Alabama Bowl from 1999-2000 then as the GMAC Bowl from 2000-10, the bowl received its current name on October 18, 2010.

The last game saw Northern Illinois take a 38-20 decision over Arkansas State on January 8, 2012.

"Our relationships with both conferences continue to grow and mature and we are pleased to have them continue to be a part of our game," said bowl president Jerry Silverstein. "The MAC has been associated with our game for 12 years and the Sun Belt for three years. We have had many memorable games as evidenced by the TV ratings, our title sponsorship and games that have become instant classics on ESPN."

The fourteenth annual GoDaddy.com Bowl will be played January 6, 2013 at Ladd- Peebles Stadium in Mobile.
