The Cincinnati Reds announced Tuesday that Devin Mesoraco's original three-game suspension has been reduced to two games.
The infraction occurred in the third inning of a July 30 loss to the San Diego Padres, when Mesoraco made contact with umpire Chad Fairchild while arguing a pitch call.
The 24-year-old catcher, who made his major league debut in 2011, is batting .210 with five homers and 14 RBI in 52 games with the Reds this season.
