McKinney scores 29, grabs 11 boards to power Sacramento State past Northern Colorado, 79-58

Mikh McKinney put up 29 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in leading Sacramento State to a 79-58 win over Northern Colorado Saturday night, further tightening an already tight Big Sky Conference race.
McKinney was 11 of 12 from the free throw line and finished with six assists. Eric Stuteville added 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Hornets (13-12, 9-7 Big Sky)
The loss drops Northern Colorado (16-9) to 10-6 in conference, two games behind Weber State and one game ahead of four teams tied with seven losses: Montana, North Dakota, Eastern Washington and now Sacramento State

Jordan Wilson scored 17 points to lead Northern Colorado, the only Bear to reach double-figure scoring. The Bears shot just 31 percent (19 of 61).
Sacramento State outrebounded the Bears 45-34 and was better from the free throw line, converting 24 of 29 attempts to Northern Colorado's 17 of 27.
