Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Casey McGehee doubled home two runs in the seventh inning and the Miami Marlins notched a 6-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies to wrap up a three-game series.
McGehee drove in three runs, Garrett Jones went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Donovan Solano had two hits, two runs and an RBI for the Marlins, who had lost five of six coming in.
"It was a good way to end the season at home," said McGehee. "It leaves a good taste in your mouth to win your final home series."
Tom Koehler (10-10) gave up four runs on eight hits with a walk and seven strikeouts in seven innings to pick up the win.
Chase Utley and Domonic Brown each drove in two runs for the Phillies, who have dropped five of seven.
David Buchanan gave up two runs on nine hits over 5 1/3 innings, while Jake Diekman (5-5) was handed the loss for giving up the lead in the seventh.
"I got better every outing and learned more than I could hope for," said Buchanan. "It's a great experience for me and I will work on some things in the offseason and hopefully earn a spot on the team next year."
Adeiny Hechavarria singled to start the eighth with Miami down by two. After Reed Johnson singled, both runners moved up a base on a wild pitch, and an error by Cody Asche on a Christian Yelich grounder plated one. Solano followed with a single to plate another run, and McGehee scored two more with a double for a 6-4 lead.
The Phils wasted a leadoff double by Asche in the eighth, and Steve Cishek pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his 39th save of the season.
Utley singled home Ben Revere in the first, but the Marlins got a sacrifice fly from McGehee followed by an RBI single from Jones in the home half for a 2-1 lead.
An RBI double from Utley and two-run single by Brown in the sixth staked the Phils to a 4-2 advantage.
