GREEN BAY, Wis. – Coach Mike McCarthy is eager to open Packers training camp and find a way to jump-start Green Bay's running game.
The team was reporting to Green Bay on Thursday with players hitting the practice field for the first time Friday.
The Packers are coming off an 11-5 season and a second consecutive NFC North title. They're also looking to erase the sting of back-to-back losses in the second round of the playoffs.
McCarthy is changing things up a little in camp by moving practice times up in the morning. He says it mirrors a routine that works in the regular season.
Improving a running game that finished 11th in the NFC last year is also a priority. McCarthy is confident the Packers will get better results on the ground.
