New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle was fined $25,000 by the NBA on Saturday for publicly criticizing officials.

Carlisle was fined for comments he made after a 130-128 loss to Houston on Friday night, which put the Mavericks in a 3-0 hole in their first-round playoff series.

He complained about a play at the start of the fourth quarter, when he said Rockets center Dwight Howard "threw" Devin Harris out of the way and passed the ball to Trevor Ariza for a 3-pointer, which extended Houston's lead to five.

"That stuff's gotta stop," Carlisle said. "The officials have to get that stuff under control. There's too much physical stuff going on. Howard's throwing people all over the place. That can't happen in Game 4."

The series continues Sunday night in Dallas.
