Matthews helps Celtic draw Inverness

Adam Matthews' goal eight minutes from time salvaged a point for Celtic as the Hoops rallied from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with Inverness on Saturday at Celtic Park.

Inverness got off the mark quickly as Aaron Doran scored 14 minutes into the match and Richie Foran added a second goal 10 minutes before halftime to give his club a two-goal lead.

But the defending champions answered with a goal from Charlie Mulgrew in the 42nd minute and went into the locker room with momentum heading into the second half.

Celtic finally found its equalizer when Matthews brought his team level in the 82nd minute to come away with a point.

The result sees Inverness remain atop the table with 10 points from four matches, while Celtic has seven points from its first three contests.

Elsewhere in Scotland on Saturday, Dundee United scored three first-half goals and rolled to a 4-0 defeat of St. Johnstone at McDiarmid Park, while Jordan McGhee scored a winner in the 88th minute to lift Hearts to a 2-1 result over Aberdeen.

Liam Craig scored a second-half double as Hibernian collected a 2-1 win against Kilmarnock, John Sutton's 21st-minute goal lifted Motherwell to a 1-0 result over Partick Thistle, and in the final fixture of the day, Ross County cruised to a 3-0 rout of St. Mirren.
