Matt Johnson passed for 167 yards and three touchdowns to lead Bowling Green to a 28-7 homecoming win over the University of Massachusetts in a Mid-American Conference matchup Saturday.
Johnson spread the attack, sending touchdown throws to three different receivers, including a 51-yard pass to Ronnie Moore in the first quarter to give the Falcons (5-1, 3-0) a lead they'd keep over the winless Minutemen (0-5, 0-1). Tyler Beck caught a 23-yard pass for a touchdown in the third quarter, followed by a 9-yard TD catch by Heath Jackson five minutes later. William Houston also punched in a 1-yard touchdown run.
The only UMass score came late in the fourth quarter on a 24-yard touchdown pass from Mike Wegzyn to Tajae Sharpe.
