Magic waive Quentin Richardson
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Orlando Magic waived three players, including veteran swingman Quentin Richardson, to reduce their roster to 15 for the start of the 2012-13 season.
Richardson averaged just 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds in three preseason games for the Magic, who first signed the DePaul product as a free agent in July 2010. He averaged 4.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 105 games, including 22 starts, during his two seasons in Orlando.
The 32-year-old veteran has averages of 10.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in 782 NBA games over 12 seasons with Orlando, Miami, New York, Phoenix and the LA Clippers.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Orlando also waived forwards Justin Harper and Chris Johnson. Harper, who averaged 3.7 points in six preseason games, appeared in 14 games as a rookie last season for the Magic and averaged 1.4 points. Johnson signed as a free agent earlier this month and appeared in four preseason games.
