Lusson's big hit leads Texas past Texas State 4-3

Kevin Lusson hit an RBI single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, leading Texas to a 4-3 victory over Texas State in the Austin Regional on Sunday.
With the score tied at 3, the Longhorns (45-16) loaded the bases with one out. Lusson, who had a two-run homer Saturday night in Texas' 7-5 loss to Kent State, bounced a single to right to score Tim Maitland to win it.
Corey Knebel (3-2) came on in relief of Cole Green in the ninth and allowed the tying run — unearned — on a sacrifice fly by Kyle Kubitza.

Jeff McVaney (1-3), who started the game in right field, pitched 2 1-3 innings of relief for Texas State (41-23) in the loss.
