LSU's Mickey declares for NBA Draft

Baton Rouge, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - NCAA shot-block leader Jordan Mickey became the second LSU sophomore in a week to declare for the NBA Draft.

Mickey announced his decision Tuesday, six days after Tigers' leading scorer Jarell Martin said he would forgo his final two years of eligibility to turn pro.

Both players were named to the All-SEC first team after leading LSU to a 22-11 record and a berth in the NCAA Tournament, where the ninth-seeded Tigers lost their opener to North Carolina State.

Mickey, a 6-foot-8 forward, was second on the team in scoring this past season at 15.4 points per game. He averaged a team-best 9.9 rebounds and NCAA-leading 3.64 blocks per game.

The nation's top incoming freshman, 6-foot-9 forward Ben Simmons, is committed to LSU.
