Lightning sign veteran D Salo
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Tampa Bay Lightning signed defenseman Sami Salo to a two-year contract Sunday.
The 13-year veteran spent the last nine seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, recording nine goals, 16 assists and a plus-seven rating in 69 games last year.
A ninth-round draft pick by the Ottawa Senators in 1996, the Turku, Finland, native has accumulated 93 goals and 305 points over 761 career games with Ottawa and Vancouver.
