Liberty agree to deal to bring former Detroit Shock F Cheryl Ford to New York
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The New York Liberty have agreed to a deal with veteran forward Cheryl Ford.
The four-time All-Star spent seven seasons in Detroit under current Liberty coach Bill Laimbeer, averaging 10.8 points and 9.7 rebounds.
The 6-foot-3 Ford — who was on the Shock's championship teams in 2003, '06, '08 — has not played in the WNBA since 2009, the team's last season in Detroit before it was sold and moved to Tulsa.
