Lehigh sets 11-game schedule in 2014

Bethlehem, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Lehigh University announced its 2014 football schedule Monday - an 11-game slate that includes five home games at Goodman Stadium and the 150th meeting between Lehigh and Lafayette, which will be played at Yankee Stadium.

The Lehigh-Lafayette series is the most-played in college football. Their historic 150th game will be played Nov. 22, 2014.

"It's incredibly exciting to be playing the 150th Lehigh-Lafayette game at Yankee Stadium," Lehigh coach Andy Coen said. "There are always expectations to that game really right from the beginning of the season. It's really an event, not necessarily just a game. It'll be certainly very special playing the game in Yankee Stadium and everything that will go on around that game. It will be exciting for the students, the fans and the players on both teams. It's going to be an exciting year, without a doubt."

The Mountain Hawks will open the 2014 season by hosting James Madison on Sept. 6. They also will host Monmouth (Sept. 27) in non-league action and then Patriot League rivals Bucknell (Oct. 11), Fordham (Oct. 25) and Colgate (Nov. 15).

Lehigh will take to the road against New Hampshire (Sept. 13), Yale (Sept. 20) and Cornell (Oct. 18) in non-league action as well as Georgetown (Nov. 1) and Holy Cross (Nov. 8) within league play.
