Hunter Mahan used an 8-under 64 on Friday to take the lead at the Canadian Open, but he will not be around Saturday to attempt to expand on that lead.
Mahan's wife, Kandi, went into labor with their first child and Hunter Mahan withdrew from the tournament to be there with her.
The 31-year-old Mahan was coming off back-to-back top-10 finishes at the last two majors, where he played in the final group both times. He finished second at the Accenture Match Play for his best finish of the season.

Mahan hasn't won since earning his fifth tour win at the 2012 Houston Open.
