Former St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa and Texas Rangers skipper Ron Washington announced Wednesday their on- field staffs for the 2012 All-Star Game, to be played at Kauffman Stadium on July 10.
La Russa, who retired after the Cardinals won the World Series last fall, named Milwaukee manager Ron Roenicke and New York skipper Terry Collins to the National League staff. Joining Washington in the American League dugout will be Ned Yost, the manager of the host Royals, and Oakland skipper Bob Melvin.
The coaches that comprised La Russa's 2011 staff -- Dave Duncan, Derek Lilliquist, Mark McGwire, Dave McKay, Jose Oquendo and Joe Pettini -- will all be on hand. Cincinnati head athletic trainer Paul Lessard and Atlanta assistant athletic trainer Jim Lovell are also Kansas City-bound.
