Kellen Dunham scored 19 points to lead No. 23 Butler past Northwestern 65-56 on Saturday.

Roosevelt Jones added 12 points and six rebounds as the Bulldogs held off a late surge by the Wildcats to earn their seventh win of the season.

Butler held a six-point lead with under four minutes left when Nathan Taphorn's 3-pointer pulled Northwestern within three. The Bulldogs capped off a 5-0 run with Alex Barlow's steal and fast-break layup, pulling ahead by eight with two minutes to play and forcing the Wildcats to call a timeout.

Northwestern's Bryant McIntosh hoisted an off-balance 3-point attempt with 30 seconds left, but it bounced off the back of the rim.

Butler got the rebound and a free throw by Kameron Woods helped put away the Wildcats.
