TROY, Ala. – Emil Jones scored 18 points to lead Troy to a 67-64 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock in a Sun Belt Conference game on Saturday night.
Ray Chambers scored 11 points, and Westley Hinton had 10 and nine rebounds for Troy (6-10, 1-4), which snapped a three-game losing streak and had lost eight of its previous nine games.
Will Neighbour and Josh Hagins scored 14 points apiece for Arkansas-Little Rock (9-8, 3-3), and Leroy Isler had 13 points.
Troy made 15 of 18 from the free-throw line, while Arkansas-Little Rock was 6 of 14. Troy won the battle on the boards 33-28.
With a 32-31 advantage at the half, Arkansas-Little Rock made it 43-34 on Neighbour's layup with 14:43 left. Troy took the lead for good at 56-55 on Hinton's dunk with 4:59 remaining, and Chambers' layup made it 63-57 with 2:19 to go.
