Johnson cards three eagles in second round at Augusta

Augusta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Dustin Johnson set a new Masters record on Friday with three eagles in his second round.

Johnson played the four par-5s at Augusta National at 7-under in round two. He made eagles at the second, eighth and 15th along with a birdie on the 13th.

The nine-time PGA Tour winner rolled in an 18-footer for eagle on the par-5 second. At the eighth, Johnson's second stopped 11 feet from the hole and he drained that for his second eagle of the day.

Johnson's second to the par-5 13th went just over the back of putting surface. He played his third to six feet and made that putt for birdie.

On No. 15, Johnson stuffed his second shot within two feet. He kicked that in for his record third eagle on the day. That eagle moved him to minus-7 for the tournament, and he has since birdied the par-3 16th to move into third place at 8-under par.

Johnson is one eagle shy of matching the Masters record for eagles in one tournament. The record of four was set by Bruce Crampton in 1974, and matched by Johnson in 2009 and by Tiger Woods in 2010.
