The New York Jets have signed reliable wide receiver Jeremy Kerley to a four-year contract extension.
Kerley, a fifth-round draft pick in 2011, was due to become an unrestricted free agent after this season. The move, announced by the team Tuesday, comes three days after the Jets completed a deal to acquire Percy Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks for a conditional draft pick.
The team did not immediately disclose financial terms.

Kerley, 25, has led the Jets in receptions the last two seasons, and has 22 catches for 201 yards and a touchdown this year. He has seen his role diminish in recent weeks with just seven catches in New York's last four games, but Kerley is one of the league's top receivers on third-down plays.
