Jagr confident he can help Bruins at age 41 as they try to boost their playoff chances

BOSTON – Jaromir Jagr's skills have diminished since he scored at least 30 goals in 15 consecutive seasons.

But he's content with what's left and so are the Boston Bruins.

The newly acquired wing said at his first practice with the Bruins on Thursday that he's changed from the player who wanted to be the NHL's top scorer, an honor he achieved in five seasons. Now he says it's more important to win as a team. And the more he scores, the better the chances the Bruins have of winning, starting Thursday night against the New Jersey Devils.

At practice, he skated at right wing with Tyler Seguin moving to center and Brad Marchand staying at left. The center spot opened when Patrice Bergeron suffered a moderate concussion in Tuesday night's 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators.
