Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired forward Jeremy Morin from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defenseman Tim Erixon.
Morin had been a healthy scratch for the past 11 games in Chicago and had yet to register a point in 15 games this season. He has eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 54 NHL games over five seasons.
"Jeremy is a young, strong forward with a very good shot, who has been a productive offensive player throughout his career," said Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen. "Given our depth at defense, this was an opportunity for us to add a very good player with a lot of potential on the other end."
