Isner reaches semis at Atlanta Open

Johns Creek, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Defending champion and No. 1 seed John Isner reached the semifinals of the Atlanta Open with a straight-set win over Marinko Matosevic on Friday.
The 6-foot-10 Isner -- who beat 6-foot-8 Kevin Anderson for last year's title -- knocked off the No. 8 seed Matosevic 7-6 (10-8), 6-4 to move a step closer to another final at this U.S. Open Series hardcourt tournament.
Isner, a back-to-back runner-up to Mardy Fish in 2010 and 2011, will face fellow American Jack Sock in the semifinals after Sock ousted Lukas Lacko 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 on Friday.

The other semifinal will pit Germany's Benjamin Becker against Dudi Sela. Becker was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Thiemo de Bakker and Sela toppled No. 4 seed Vasek Pospisil 7-5, 1-6, 6-2.
This week's winner will claim $103,000.
