Irving, Morris help Boston U capture Patriot League crown with a 68-64 victory over Holy Cross
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}D.J. Irving scored 15 points, including the game-clinching free throws with 7 seconds left, as Boston University secured the Patriot League crown by beating Holy Cross 68-64 on Saturday.
Boston, in its first year in the league, will be a No. 1 seed for the first time since 2004.
Dom Morris added 14 for The Terriers (22-9, 15-3), which shot 52 percent (26 of 50), including 8 of 19 3-pointers. Irving had four makes from beyond the mark and John Papale added three more.

Boston trailed by six points early in the second half, but took the lead for good, 46-43, on a Travis Robinson 3-pointer with 13:31 left.
Holy Cross got within two-points twice in the final 2:14 — the last on a Malachi Alexander 3-pointer — but did not score in the final 1:30.
