Iowa coasts past Miami-Florida into Sweet 16

Iowa City, IA (SportsNetwork.com) - Bethany Doolittle registered a double- double of 22 points and 11 rebounds as the third-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes coasted to an 88-70 win over the 11th-seeded Miami-Florida Hurricanes in the second round of the NCAA Women's Tournament at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Ally Disterhoft provided 15 points for Iowa (26-7), which will advance to take on Baylor in the Sweet 16. Samantha Logic tallied 12 points and seven assists, while Melissa Dixon and Whitney Jennings had 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Jessica Thomas led the Hurricanes (20-13) with 20 points on 8-of-22 shooting from the floor. Adrienne Motley contributed 18 points and Necole Sterling supplied 15 points.

The Hawkeyes went into halftime on top, 38-31, despite being limited to 36.4 percent shooting from the floor in the first half. Miami went just 2-of-11 from beyond the arc and was outscored, 12-1, at the charity stripe in the opening stanza.
Iowa was unstoppable after the break, hitting on 75 percent of its field goal attempts including a 3-of-5 clip from behind the 3-point line.
Coach Lisa Bluder will be making her inaugural appearance in the Sweet 16 after being knocked out in either the first or second rounds in her previous 11 NCAA Tournament appearances. Iowa improved to 18-0 at home with the win.
