Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Indians activated outfielder Nick Swisher from the 15-day disabled list, and he is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Kansas City.
Swisher, 34, had surgery on both of his knees in August and has not played in 2015. During a six-game rehab assignment for Triple-A Columbus, he had nine hits in 24 at-bats, including a home run.
The veteran enters the third season of a four-year contract on the heels of a disappointing 2014 season that saw him bat .208 with a .278 on-base percentage, both career lows.
