Hurricanes sign LaRose to two-year, $3.4 million deal

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Reuters) - The Carolina Hurricanes agreed to a two-year contract worth $3.4 million for right wing right wing Chad LaRose, the team said on Wednesday.
LaRose, who had a career-high 31 points last season, will make $1.5 million for the 2011-12 NHL season and $1.9 million in 2012-13, the Hurricanes said in a statement.
The 29-year-old, who has played for Carolina in each of his six NHL seasons, ranked sixth on the team with 16 goals last season while playing in all 82 games.
