New York, NY – San Diego Padres catcher Nick Hundley and winners of the National League player of the week for the period ending August 21.
Hundley led the majors last week with a 1.083 slugging percentage over seven games with four triples and 26 total bases. He batted 12-for-24 and scored eight times as the Padres went 5-2 during the week. It's his first weekly award.
Zimmerman also batted 12-for-24 with three home runs and seven RBI. His ninth inning grand slam on Friday capped a six-run inning for the Nationals in an 8-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Washington went 4-2 during the week.
