PSG preserved its eight-game unbeaten streak, and its one-point cushion at the top of the table over second-place Montpellier.
The Paris club took the lead through Alex, who scored his first goal since his transfer from Chelsea last month. He drove a free kick into the top right, but PSG was only in front for a few minutes.
Belhanda directed Hilton's cross into the bottom right in the dying seconds of the opening half, and Montpellier eventually grabbed the lead through Utaka.

Utaka reached a cross from Olivier Giroud, the leading scorer in Ligue 1, and deposited the ball into the upper-left corner. Montpellier was in position to open a two-point lead atop the table, but it could not hold on for the win.
PSG remained undefeated under new coach Carlo Ancelotti, but will have to deal with Montpellier for a little longer, as its lone title rivals still picked up a huge road point.
