Hernandez extends stay with FCD
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Daniel Hernandez signed a new three-year coach.
Under the new contract, Hernandez will play at least one more season with the team before he transitions over to a role on the coaching staff under head man Schellas Hyndman.
"Daniel has been such a great leader for us in the locker room and on the field," said Hyndman. "I'm very excited to have him back. He's an integral part of our team. I had the pleasure of coaching him in college at SMU and I'm honored to be a part of this next transition for him and hope to pass along as much coaching knowledge as I can in the next three years. I'm sure he will excel."
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Hernandez has made 61 appearances for the Hoops since joining the team late in the 2009 season, while also spending time in MLS with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
The 35-year-old played in Mexico with Puebla, Jaguares and Necaxa before returning to MLS with Dallas.
