Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Hawks will enter postseason play without key reserve Thabo Sefolosha, who suffered a broken leg during an altercation in New York City, the team said Thursday.

Sefolosha and teammate Pero Antic were arrested outside of a Manhattan night club early Wednesday morning after allegedly interfering with local police after Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland was stabbed.

Sefolosha, one of Atlanta's best perimeter defenders, will miss the remainder of the season with a fractured fibula and ligament damage in his right leg, which will require surgery.

"This will be a very difficult situation for Thabo and out thoughts and support will be with him during his recovery," said Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer. "Our team remains focused and will be prepared as we head into the postseason."

The Hawks have secured homecourt advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Sefolosha, 30, averaged 5.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in his first season with Atlanta after two-plus in Chicago and five-plus with the Thunder.
